Last chance for abusive tenant
Released on 07 May 2010A disruptive tenant from Stobhill in Morpeth will be evicted from her home if there is any repeat of the foul and abusive language and loud music which she subjected her neighbours to.
Samantha Pringle, of Fourth Avenue in Stobhill, recently appeared in Morpeth and Berwick County Court after her landlord Castle Morpeth Housing gathered evidence of tenancy breaches over a three month period.
Ms Pringle's behaviour was already subject to a three year conditional discharge she received in August 2008 after confessing to possession of a class A drug, when ecstasy tablets were found in her home along with a large amount of cash. Now a suspended possession order is in place for 12 months.
The court heard of seven different occasions between March and June 2009 when Ms Pringle verbally abused visitors and neighbours, and four occasions when loud music disturbed the street.
Ms Pringle was also said to have tried to intimidate her neighbours by accusing them of informing the Police about her behaviour.
Stuart Brown, safer neighbourhoods manager for Castle Morpeth Housing, said: "We take no pleasure in having to seek court action in cases like this one.
"As a responsible landlord, we do all we can to help improve people's behaviour so they can keep their homes.
"However, in this case, Ms Pringle's behaviour has been so disruptive to her neighbours, that we had a duty to take action. Now if there is any further breach of her tenancy agreement, we will make moves to take back the property."
